More than $10,000 has been spent to purchase items like recliners for patient and resident rooms, bariatric chairs for radiology patients, a portable cardiac monitor for the emergency room, an oximetry unit for the intensive care unit plus many more items for the best patient care. In the past, the Auxiliary has hosted fundraising live Follies performances, fashion shows, bake sales and other events with all funds going directly to help meet the needs of patients and residents. The Auxiliary began in 1915 to support the needs of the hospital and its staff and patients by providing comfort care items that fall outside of the regular operating budget. "We try to choose what is most important from the lists of wants and needs," she noted. In January, the Auxiliary peruses wish lists from hospital personnel to decide which project or apparatus they want to support, Mallery said. Joe Rowbottom IV donated both the large sign on the lawn in front of the hospital and posters for the campaign in honor of his own dad, Mallery said.Ĭontribution forms are available online. A card also can be sent to the family notifying them of the gift. There also will be lights on a tree in front of the hospital for the loved ones who are remembered.įor a gift of $100 or more, an honoree's name will be displayed on the LED signs on Route 5 in front of the hospital.
